Whatever you may think, ZZ Top were one of the most exciting bands to see live. Back then there were no photo pits, so we just got in early and got squashed up against the stage. People ask why us photographers carried so many cameras – the answer is there was no room to change lenses so 3 or 4 cameras with different lenes was the only way to go. Besides which with so much dry ice you lose where your gear is at!
