Roger Waters
The Wall – Berlin 1990
An amazing gig – on site for 4 days. This picture of Roger Waters throwing his guitar through a window was captured on rehearsal night, during which a chap from a Phil Collins gig next door asked for the sound to be turned down because it was drowning out everything in their concert hall!
At the start of the gig the nine delay towers had their amps switched to mute as someone had pulled a plug backstage so information of how to reinitialise amps was radioed to security at each tower after which sound was back on not just the backline.
A funny fact: with our passes we were able to get into bars and drink for free as well as pass through a military roadblock set up to stop people seeing military manoeuvres being held down the road. To get past a tank in the middle of the road our driver just bunged out our pass and whoopee we were in!
